MV Cement

Cobalt™ MV Bone Cement offers surgeons the choice of a medium viscosity cementing solution that provides premium product benefits such as patented SoftPac™ technology, high contrast color and a lower viscosity for longer working time.1 The use of patented SoftPac™ technology creates a safer operating environment by eliminating the use of glass ampoules1 while the high contrast of blue pre-colored cement provides optimal visualization against bone and soft tissue.

Medium Viscosity Consistency

Cobalt™ MV bone cement was developed specifically for arthroplasty procedures of the hip, knee and upper extremity. With lower viscosity for longer working time, Cobalt™ MV bone cement offers optimal versatility for various applications.


Cobalt™ Bone Cement is also available with Gentamicin. The broad spectrum of Gentamicin covers both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, two groups of organisms found in arthroplasty cases. When compared to Simplex™ P with Tobramycin and SmartSet® Endurance™ GMV, Cobalt™ MV with Gentamicin shows a higher elution rate beginning day one.

HV Cement

Cobalt™ HV Bone Cement offers the benefits of a pre-colored high viscosity cement for optimal visualization against bone and ideal handling. Available with the addition of gentamicin, Cobalt™ G-HV cement features high elution characteristics1 and provides high local concentrations of gentamicin extending over several days.

High Viscosity Consistency

The high viscosity properties of Cobalt™ bone cement are intended to provide ideal handling characteristics and a reduced overall set-time. There is no need to wait for the cement to “dough up,” providing increased working time. The excellent workability of Cobalt™ bone cement makes it optimal for minimally invasive surgery.


  • Testing has demonstrated that Cobalt&trade G-HV cement has higher elution characteristics than some other commercially available bone cements.1 Cobalt™ G-HV cement provides high local concentrations of gentamicin releasing over a span of several days.
  • Gentamicin’s broad spectrum covers both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, the most common bacteria in arthroplasty cases.
