DonJoy® Launches New UltraSling® Quadrant Shoulder Orthosis

November 13, 2017
Patent-pending brace technology delivers ‘Immobilization Redefined’

SAN DIEGO, CA November 13, 2017 – DJO Global, Inc. (“DJO Global” or the “Company”), a leading global provider of medical technologies designed to get and keep people moving, announces the launch of the new UltraSling® Quadrant, a patent-pending shoulder orthosis that provides four angles of immobilization in one brace for optimal versatility and a unique feature that allows the patient to flex and extend their arm, promoting therapeutic movement.

UltraSling Quadrant is the latest innovation from DonJoy, part of the DJO Global family of brands. Whether the need is post-operative or post-traumatic, UltraSling Quadrant immobilizes the patient’s shoulder within the four angles—internal rotation, external rotation, adduction and abduction—and helps support a secure and functional recovery. It truly is Immobilization Redefined.

“The UltraSling family of shoulder braces has been a leader since the original launch in 1997,” said Brady Shirley, CEO of DJO Global. “With the introduction of the next generation, the UltraSling Quadrant, we have revolutionized shoulder immobilization.”

In addition to its four angles of immobilization, several unique features set UltraSling Quadrant apart. ProTherapy™ is a precision-based system that enhances the rehabilitation process by allowing patients to flex and extend their arm, which promotes therapeutic movement throughout recovery. UltraSling Quadrant also provides single-handed, patient-friendly application for ease of use, which improves the patient experience and promotes compliance. TempGuard™, a cool-to-the-touch anti-microbial material, adds extraordinary comfort, especially for those who require extended use.

"With the UltraSling Quadrant the ultimate next generation shoulder brace is released,” said one of the design collaborators, Professor Markus Scheibel, Head Department of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin “The brace will definitely help surgeons to treat their patients better. With an all-in-one design it will allow a much more physiological rehabilitation process of the involved upper extremity while guaranteeing that the affected shoulder is immobilized in any desired position."

UltraSling Quadrant builds upon a legacy of pioneering innovation in a portfolio of DonJoy products that partner with the medical community and healthcare professionals to empower people of all ages and abilities to confidently move forward—from prevention through pain relief and recovery.
