Vista, Calif. (August 13, 2001) -- dj Orthopedics, LLC, a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of products and services for the orthopedic sports medicine market, announced today that its parent, DonJoy, LLC, expects to file by the end of 2001a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering of the common stock of a new corporation that it intends to form in connection with the offering. The size of the offering has not yet been determined. Proceeds from the offering are expected to be used to repay a portion of its indebtedness and for general corporate purposes. The timing and terms of any such offering are subject to, among other things, prevailing market conditions, and no assurance
can be given that any such offering will actually be consummated.
