dj Orthopedics Introduces ``No Tools Required`` Telescoping Bars to Post-op Brace Line
New low-profile and easy-to-use adjustable bars reduce inventory needs
SAN DIEGO - dj Orthopedics, LLC, the worldwide leader in orthopedic support products, has announced the development of revolutionary telescoping bars to the DonJoy® post operative line, including its leading TROM™ (Total Range of Motion), IROM® (Improved Range of Motion) and ELS® (Extension Lock Splint) post-op braces. With the push
of a button, the new slim design allows for easy adjustment of the bar length to custom fit to the patient, according to Kathy Bubien, product manager for dj Orthopedics.
"Customers have requested the ability to adjust the length of our post-op braces and now we can answer that need with a light-weight, sleek and easy-to-slide design without requiring any tools," said Bubien. "Other adjustable braces on the market tend to be very cumbersome and difficult to adjust. With our new telescoping bars the braces are simple to lengthen for varying heights, therefore lowering inventory requirements." The completely enhanced post-op line includes the new slim telescoping bars, quick release buckles and charcoal colored interior foam to help prevent discoloration of the brace's material. The new one-size-fits-all brace is designed to telescope down to the ankle to help prevent migration of the brace, and to improve overall fit and comfort. The TROM™ post-op brace, the first to be released with the low-profile telescoping bars, has an innovative, easy-to-use hinge that can adjust the range-of-motion with the click of a button and will be the first available of the post operative line. The brace can lock instantly from 0 to 90 degrees in 10-degree increments for drop-lock requirements and offers a variety of flexion and locking capabilities for personalized rehabilitation protocols. With its controlled range of motion and quick locking capabilities, the TROM™ braces are ideal following major ligament surgery, meniscal repairs and stable femoral fractures.
Within weeks the telescoping bars will also be available on the IROM® and ELS®. The IROM® provides immobilization and precise range-of-motion control in 10-degree increments. The ELS® uses a simple slide lock mechanism to provide a lock at full extension and free range of motion. Both post-op braces are ideal for ACL and PCL surgeries.
