New Partnership Will Improve Customer Service & Operational Efficiency

SAN DIEGO, CA, MAY 23, 2018 – DJO (“DJO” or the “Company”), a leading global provider of medical technologies designed to get and keep people moving, today announced it entered into a strategic partnership with XPO Logistics (“XPO”), a global logistics provider of cutting-edge supply chain solutions, to manage portions of DJO’s North American distribution operations beginning in July 9, 2018.  As part of this partnership, DJO will open a state-of-the-art distribution center in Dallas-Forth Worth, Texas that will be managed by XPO.

As XPO assumes a portion of distribution, operations and supply chain responsibilities, it will also introduce significant efficiencies by integrating consistent, repeatable processes across DJO.  The partnership leverages new systems, advanced technology and a proven infrastructure to drive operational excellence for the Company, and most importantly, helps deliver an improved customer experience.  After the transition to XPO is complete, this centralized distribution approach aims to reduce delivery times, improve customer service and drive significant cost savings due to a strengthened operational infrastructure.

“Our vision is to create a world class distribution fulfillment center that exceeds the needs of our customers and flexes to support market changes,” said Mike Eklund, DJO’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. “This transition to a scalable and technically advanced distribution center managed by XPO will enable the consolidation of our customers’ orders across multiple product lines into one shipment and accelerate our ability to fill orders. It will be a significant win for our customers and a market differentiator for DJO.”

With the acceleration of value-based care, rapidly evolving customer needs around the world and DJO’s commitment to continuous improvement, the XPO partnership supports the company’s growth trajectory with third-party scale, operational expertise and technology investment. XPO will provide substantial upgrades and new tools, including in-place IT solutions for order management, inventory management and visibility at all times.
