dj Orthopedics, LLC reports First Quarter Results

Vista, Calif. (May 14, 2001) -- dj Orthopedics, LLC today announced its financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2001. The Company's net revenues amounted to $41.8 million, up $9.2 million or 28.3%, over the same period last year. EBITDA for the first quarter ended March 31, 2001 amounted to $8.1 million, up $1.0 million or 14.5%, over the same period last year.

Growth over prior year can be attributed to the acquisition of OrthoTech and the introduction and development of several new products. The Company anticipates net revenues and EBITDA to continue to show improved growth through 2001 as compared to prior year.

Les Cross, President and CEO commented, "We are very pleased with the first quarter progress. We were able to increase average per day revenues by 30.3% over the same quarter of 2000, combining internal growth and the OrthoTech acquisition. The OrthoTech business impacted the quarter's results versus last year, favorably in revenues and with increasing benefits to the EBITDA results. We are also pleased to report the successful implementation of the new ERP system, a project which provides much needed information capabilities and a scaleable platform for future growth."
