| The primary manufacturing facilities for DJO are located in both North America and around the world. Our main manufacturing plants are in: Tijuana, Mexico; Austin, Texas; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Clear Lake, South Dakota; Vista, California; and Sfax, Tunisia. All of our operations practice “lean” or minimizing waste principles to ensure the highest product quality and best possible customer service. |

Above and below: The modern Tijuana plant was built in late 2004 and covers 225,000 square feet. Adjacent to the plant is a new 60,000 square foot distribution center that ships worldwide daily.

Most of DJO’s production is organized in lean manufacturing cells. In the lean cellular type production, each person is cross-trained to perform most or all functions in the cell. This highly effective team concept ensures that quality is built into every step of the manufacturing process with the least amount of wasted time and energy. Most cell teams build products to actual customer demand, allowing shipment within hours of order placement.

Our DJO Mexico facility earned the ranking of #16 of all businesses in Mexico, and #2 of all manufacturers in Mexico in the Great Places to Work award program for 2008. Also, the Tijuana and Vista facilities were recognized as two of the Best Plants in North America by IndustryWeek magazine. The Vista operation was a recipient of the Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing in 2006. |

As a highly vertically integrated manufacturer, we utilize many different processes and automated machinery to make our products. Injection molding, laser cutting, metal stamping, CNC machining, automated fabric cutting, radio-frequency and ultrasonic welding, robotic welding, powder coating and pick and place robots are just some of the processes at work in our plants. |

Custom braces, liners and straps are handcrafted in our lean manufacturing cells.
One of our flagship products is the Defiance custom knee brace used by professional, college and amateur athletes alike. Made in a specially designed cell in our Vista facility, each brace is custom-made to each patient’s contours for a precise, comfortable fit.
